MELB – Business Development Manager – Infrastructure Asset Management Software



Our client is a leading European provider of software and services around data driven infrastructure asset management.   They boast a diverse range of industry leading software products supported by comprehensive surveying and consultancy services.    They are thought leaders in this space, and their unique technology and dynamic interfaces have not only won awards but created a huge demand in the market place for their products.     Their success in the European market gives them confidence as they embark on their journey of growth here in Australia.     This is a newly created national role to head up the sales function in Australia for this exciting and rapidly growing organisation.


Reporting to the European Sales Director, in this autonomous role you will be responsible for winning new business across the full suite of software and services primarily within the roads infrastructure sector.       You will manage the entire sales cycle from RFP through to closing the business, and although you will be supported by strong resources and a pre-sales consultant here in Melbourne, you are a true end-to-end sales hunter and have the ability to engage with the client at all levels.    Working closely with local and state government departments, this role will also incorporate developing key relationships with civil engineering and civil construction companies to form mutually beneficial strategic alliances.


You are highly motivated and driven software sales hunter, with direct and recent experience selling to Government.     You are a trusted advisor to your clients, extremely consultative and will bring a desire to succeed and generate new business wins that is truly representative of who are as a sales professional.

Other requirements:

  • 4+ years in a similar role selling software.
  • Experience selling some sort of technology into Government.
  • Infrastructure experience will be highly sought after, however candidates with suitable alternative backgrounds will be considered.
  • Some sort of formal sales training such as TAS or SPIN will be highly regarded.
  • Driven self-starter with a track record of driving new business sales campaigns.

Salary range on offer is open depending on what experience the successful candidate brings to the table.   If you tick the boxes, you are encouraged to apply.    Initial indications have the salary at around $130K base + super + a rewarding uncapped commission structure which would see an OTE of well over $200K at this level.   You will be provided with a home office initially and all the tools of the trade, and will have access to a serviced office which will be at your disposal for required meetings.
